Abounding in Giving.!
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” 2 Corinthians 9:8 KJV A lot of people always quote in prayer, the scripture above, for God to make all grace abound toward them; that they have sufficiency in all things, full stop. They neglect the "that they may abound to every good works" part. See previous post here: Obedience in Prayer!! In context, the scripture is not a "prayer for need" scripture. It is not a surplus supply of need scripture, in that sense. It is actually a prayer to be "bleesed to be a blessing" scripture. Every good work in this verse refers to giving to others, which is our seed sown as we can see in the next verse (2Cor9:9). The whole of the chapter ( 2Cor9 ), is centred on giving: help for needy believers. We are admonished to give. For as believers it is our way of life. In giving, we have to; Give as we a
